About the job
The Executive Housekeeper is responsible for the overall cleanliness, maintenance, and appearance of guest rooms, public areas, back-of-house areas, and laundry operations within the hotel/resort. This role ensures the highest standards of hygiene, guest satisfaction, and departmental efficiency, while leading, training, and motivating the housekeeping team.
As Executive Housekeeper, you will be responsible for the following duties:
Operational Duties
Oversee daily housekeeping operations including guest rooms, public areas, and laundry.
Ensure all rooms and public areas meet brand and quality standards.
Develop and implement cleaning schedules and deep-cleaning programs.
Inspect rooms and facilities regularly to ensure high cleanliness standards.
Coordinate with Front Office and Maintenance for room status, repairs, and preventive maintenance.
Staff Management
Recruit, train, and develop housekeeping team members.
Conduct performance evaluations and manage staff schedules/rosters.
Motivate and coach staff to deliver exceptional service.
Ensure compliance with company policies, grooming standards, and safety procedures.
Financial & Inventory Control
Prepare and manage the housekeeping budget (labour, supplies, linen, laundry).
Control inventory of cleaning supplies, guest supplies, and linen.
Monitor cost efficiency and implement cost-control measures.
Approve purchase requests and liaise with suppliers/vendors.
Guest Service
Handle and resolve guest complaints related to housekeeping promptly and professionally.
Anticipate guest needs and ensure personalized service delivery.
Support other departments to ensure seamless guest experiences.
Health, Safety & Compliance
Ensure compliance with hygiene, sanitation, and safety standards.
Train staff on proper use of cleaning equipment and chemicals.
Oversee proper handling of lost & found items.
Ensure compliance with environmental and sustainability practices (energy and water-saving initiatives, recycling, etc.).
As Executive Housekeeper, we expect from you:
Diploma/Degree in Hotel Management or related field preferred.
Minimum 3–5 years of housekeeping supervisory/managerial experience in a hotel/resort.
Strong leadership, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
Good knowledge of cleaning techniques, laundry operations, and equipment.
Budget management and cost-control experience.
Proficiency in MS Office and hotel PMS systems.
Excellent communication skills in English (other languages an advantage).
Eye for detail and high standards of cleanliness.
Leadership and team management.
Problem-solving and decision-making skills.
Guest-oriented and service-minded.
Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
