The Role

The Accounts Receivable Clerk is responsible for the timely and accurate processing, recording, and reconciliation of all receivables for the hotel. As part of the pre-opening finance team, the role plays a critical part in establishing accounts receivable procedures, credit controls, and billing systems in accordance with Mandarin Oriental Hotel Group standards. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, organized, and capable of working effectively in a fast-paced, start-up hospitality environment.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare and issue accurate invoices for corporate, group, and approved credit accounts.
  • Post and reconcile city ledger transactions, payments, credit memos, and adjustments.
  • Monitor accounts receivable aging and follow up on outstanding balances to ensure timely collection.
  • Assist in implementing AR procedures, credit controls, and billing processes during pre-opening.
  • Coordinate with Front Office, Sales, and Reservations to ensure correct billing information and credit setup.
  • Prepare AR reports and support month-end closing and audit requirements.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, accounting standards, and Mandarin Oriental brand guidelines.

 

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 1–2 years of accounts receivable experience, preferably in hospitality or a service-oriented industry.
  • Pre-opening hotel experience is an advantage.
  • Proficiency in hotel accounting systems (e.g., Opera, SUN, or similar PMS/ERP systems) and MS Excel.
