About the Role

It’s sales that make our hotels, resorts and residences prosper. As the Asst. Director of Sales - Corporate, you will lead by example in developing and implementing the sales activities within your segment. You take pride in developing and deploying sales generation activities within your assigned market, and in guiding and supporting your colleagues as they deploy activities in their assigned markets. Your team depends on you, and your efforts are valued and important to the success of the business.

This role supports the Director of Commercial Strategy (DCS) in executing the hotel’s commercial plan, contributes to the leadership of the sales function, and represents the brand through Mandarin Oriental’s legendary quality and service philosophy.

Your Responsibilities

In this role, you will lead sales activities within your designated market segment while guiding and supporting the colleagues who report to you. You are entrusted with achieving departmental sales objectives through thoughtful planning, effective leadership, and exemplary client engagement.

  • Cultivating and strengthening relationships with existing and prospective clients to grow business, shift market share, and elevate awareness of the hotel and the Mandarin Oriental brand.
  • Serving as the subject matter expert for your assigned market or segment, providing strategic insights and guidance.
  • Analyzing account performance, identifying trends, and implementing targeted sales actions aligned with the annual marketing plan.
  • Planning, coordinating, and participating in sales calls, familiarization trips, site inspections, and hosted client experiences.
  • Developing and executing both short‑ and long‑term commercial strategies to achieve sales goals and maintain a competitive market position.
  • Demonstrating attentive listening to understand each client’s business objectives and tailored requirements.
  • Communicating the hotel’s unique features and benefits in a manner that addresses both expressed and unexpressed client needs.
  • Representing the hotel at trade shows, key industry events, and brand initiatives.
  • Contributing to the development and execution of the hotel’s annual marketing plan.
  • Ensuring accuracy and integrity of data input in all sales systems to support precise analysis and reporting.
  • Managing lead flow, advancing opportunities, and ensuring timely follow‑up.
  • Leveraging social media and digital platforms to identify new opportunities and deepen engagement with existing clients.
  • Creating compelling, storytelling‑driven presentations that showcase the hotel’s experiences, spaces, and services.
  • Ensuring all sales activities, communications, and follow‑up actions are documented in accordance with established standards.

You’ll Provide Exceptional Service to Your Internal and External Clients

As an ambassador of Mandarin Oriental’s renowned service culture, you will uphold our commitment to exceeding expectations in every interaction.

You will do this by:

  • Responding to client requests promptly, thoughtfully, and professionally.
  • Hiring, training, and inspiring your team to deliver an exceptional level of service and engagement.
  • Providing solutions that address both the stated and unstated needs of clients, anticipating challenges before they arise.
  • Representing Sales at internal meetings to ensure operational teams have the information they need to deliver flawless experiences.
  • Leading weekly sales meetings to inform, encourage, and align your team.
  • Collaborating seamlessly with other departments to ensure a smooth and efficient operation.
  • Partnering with colleagues across other Mandarin Oriental properties to share insights, client feedback, and best practices.

You’ll Lead with Responsibility, Care, and Integrity

You are entrusted to be a thoughtful leader who fosters a supportive and motivating work environment, ensuring all colleagues feel valued and empowered.

You will do this by:

  • Demonstrating a positive, humble, and gracious demeanor in your daily interactions.
  • Offering encouragement and support to colleagues and stakeholders at all levels.
  • Actively participating in team‑building and colleague‑engagement initiatives that strengthen workplace culture.
  • Providing assistance to operational departments whenever needed to ensure the success of the hotel.
  • Investing in the ongoing training, development, and mentoring of your direct reports.
