About the Job
Based at Mandarin Oriental, Geneva, within the SACHI Department, the Assistant Restaurant Manager is responsible for assisting the Restaurant Manager in the management of the restaurant, ensuring the smooth running of the service and customer satisfaction for all services provided, in accordance with quality standards, HACCP hygiene standards, and procedures in force within the hotel, and supervising a team of around twenty employees.
As Assistant Restaurant Manager, you will be responsible for:
Participate in the development of schedules based on planned activity.
Have the necessary knowledge and skills of the Infrasis POS, be able to train/assist servers in the use of the system and apply the necessary controls.
Assist subordinates in service.
Ensure customer satisfaction by visiting them during their meal.
Forward customer comments on food and service to the Restaurant Manager and Chef Sachi
Respond to specific customer requests as necessary
Handle customer complaints and comments
Demonstrate interpersonal skills (interpersonal skills) to build customer loyalty
Adhere to and apply the Mandarin Oriental principles set out in ‘Our Commitments’
As Assistant Restaurant Manager we expect from you:
A passion for service and attention to detail.
Previous management and service experience in a luxury hotel or fine dining environment preferred.
Team spirit, curiosity, and a desire to learn and grow.
Good communication skills and a flexible attitude.
Fluency in English and French, another European language is a plus.
A valid Swiss work permit or EU passport.
