Assistant Executive Housekeeperは宿泊部ハウスk-ピングのチームに所属し、ハウスキーピング部門の日常業務を監督します。客室、パブリックエリア、バックオブハウスエリアが常にマンダリン オリエンタル、MOQA、フォーブスのクオリティスタンダードを満たすことを保証します。Executive Housekeeper不在時には部門の全責任を負います。

About the job

Based at the Mandarin Oriental, Tokyo / within the Housekeeping, the Assistant Executive Housekeeper assists in overseeing the day-to-day operations of the Housekeeping Department. The role ensures that guest rooms, public areas, and back-of-house areas consistently meet Mandarin Oriental, MOQA, and Forbes standards. The incumbent acts as a role model, supports operational leadership, and assumes full responsibility of the department in the absence of the Executive Housekeeper.

The Assistant Executive Housekeeper reports directly to the Executive Housekeeper and works closely with the Director of Rooms and other Rooms Division leaders. He/she supports the supervision and development of all Housekeeping colleagues.

As Assistant Executive Housekeeper, you will be responsible for the following duties:

1. Guest Experience & Service Excellence
•    Ensure guest satisfaction from arrival to departure in accordance with standards, procedures, and the Legendary Quality Experience (LQE).
•    Proactively identify opportunities to exceed guest expectations and personalize service delivery.
•    Monitor and ensure the correct and timely handling of all guest requests and amenities.
•    Assist in handling guest complaints professionally and effectively, ensuring prompt resolution and follow-up.

2. Operational & Administrative Management
•    Support the Executive Housekeeper in maintaining exceptional cleanliness and service standards across all areas of responsibility.
•    Conduct regular inspections of guest rooms, public areas, and back-of-house areas in accordance with LQE and Forbes standards.
•    Coordinate closely with Engineering by reporting maintenance issues and following up on work orders.
•    Monitor productivity, staffing levels, and daily deployment to ensure efficient labor utilization.
•    Assist with inventory control, purchasing control, and proper usage of OS&E and cleaning supplies.
•    Ensure all equipment and cleaning chemicals are used safely and in compliance with health, safety, and security standards.
•    Participate in budget control, cost management, and departmental expense monitoring.
•    Support outsourcing company coordination and performance monitoring, where applicable.
•    Prepare operational reports and provide updates to the Executive Housekeeper as required.

3. Leadership, Training & Communication
•    Conduct and support daily pre-shift briefings to ensure alignment on priorities and standards.
•    Assist in implementing training programs, coaching, and on-the-job development for Housekeeping colleagues.
•    Ensure colleagues maintain impeccable grooming, professionalism, and adherence to Mandarin Oriental standards.
•    Provide regular feedback, performance guidance, and motivation to foster a positive and engaged work environment.
•    Communicate effectively with all colleagues and departments to ensure smooth daily operations.

4. Guest Rooms, Public Areas & Back of House Oversight
•    Ensure all guest rooms are inspected and released according to standards, including VIP rooms, early arrivals, and special requests.
•    Monitor room setup, amenities, and cleanliness to ensure consistency and attention to detail.
•    Oversee cleanliness and presentation of all assigned public areas.
•    Ensure back-of-house areas are clean, organized, and compliant with hygiene and safety requirements.
•    Identify, report, and follow up on missing, damaged, or sub-standard fixtures and equipment.
5. Acting Executive Housekeeper Responsibilities
•    Assume full responsibility for the Housekeeping Department in the absence of the Executive Housekeeper.
•    Support departmental planning, projects, and continuous improvement initiatives.
