About the job

Based at Mandarin Oriental Lutetia, Paris the Assistant In Room Dining Manager supports reports directly to the In Room Dining Manager.

As Assistant In Room Dining Manager you will be responsible for the following duties:

  • Team Leadership & Coordination: Organize, supervise, and support the Room Service team. Prepare schedules and lead pre/post-service briefings. Ensure proper task distribution and team motivation.

  • Service Quality Control: Ensure adherence to hotel and LQA service standards. Oversee mise en place, cleanliness, and respect for HACCP hygiene regulations.

  • Client Satisfaction & Personalization: Take orders, provide tailored recommendations, and ensure guest satisfaction throughout the experience, using tools like Opera and guest profiles.

  • Complaint Handling: Manage customer feedback and resolve conflicts with professionalism and care, always aiming to exceed expectations.

  • Room Service Logistics: Monitor minibar and service station stock levels, coordinate inventories, and ensure timely, compliant deliveries.

  • Billing & Cash Operations: Prepare and verify client bills, manage payments, and close daily cash reports accurately.

  • Shift Closure: Supervise cleanup, equipment return, and service area reset. Conduct handovers with night staff, ensuring all key information is shared.

  • Staff Training & Onboarding: Welcome and train new team members according to standards, manage internal conflicts, and report to your line manager as needed.

As Assistant In Room Dining Manager we expect from you:

  • Fluency in English and French, a third language would be appreciated

  • A 5 year experience in the parisian luxury hospitality industry

  • To demonstrate strong organizational and leadership skills, along with excellent interpersonal abilities, enabling you to foster team cohesion effectively.
