Scope of Position
Reporting to the Director of Marketing Communications, the Creative Lead- Graphic Designer will be responsible for managing the hotel’s creative projects from inception to completion and for bringing ideas to life using their design and illustration skills.
Responsibilities
- Develop master visual concepts in line with the internal creative brief and the campaigns’ objectives.
- Fulfil general design requests, art-working, supply of materials and day-to-day design needs.
- Designs graphics for project illustrations, but not limited to logos, brochures, EDMs, social media, website layouts, touchpoints, advertisements, brochures, signage, presentations and all other marketing collateral for the hotel and residences.
- Reviews and proofreads designs before printing or publishing to ensure accurate, high-quality work.
- Photo editing and/or retouching for web and print.
- Uses innovation to redefine a design brief.
- Maintains up to date knowledge of industry software and technologies
- Coordinates with industry professionals such as (but not limited to) copywriters, photographers, web developers, printers and event organizers.
- Liaises with printers to ensure accuracy and general print supervision.
- Meets Marketing Department work standards by following production, productivity, and quality guidelines.
- Tracks submission deadlines and presents final artwork as per specified requirements.
- Collaborate, brainstorm, and provide graphic design support to the various hotel departments.
- Monitor the progress of all projects, providing continuous status updates.
- Adhere to Mandarin Oriental Hotel Group’s brand guidelines in all design projects.
- Ensure that the corporate BCM manuals are kept up-to-date and implemented as appropriate.
- Supervise production of the hotel’s internal and external collaterals as per the brand’s standards.
- Manage relationships with external printers and suppliers to always ensure quality control.
- Co-ordinate the display and removal of all promotional materials within the hotel premises
- Update and maintain databases of designs, photography, and video assets.
- Adhere to all standards, policies, and procedures (SOPs, etc.).
- Maintain the inventory and ordering of collaterals and design kits.
- Support departments with photo or video shoots

- Stay up to date with latest graphic design software and techniques to accordingly recommend tools that can be efficiently applied.
Skills & Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in graphic design or any other design related education certification.
- Advanced in all Adobe Programmes (Illustrator/Photoshop/InDesign/Acrobat/Dreamweaver, HTML, CSS and working knowledge of MS Office and interactive media production.
- A solution-oriented, collaborative, proactive individual with strong communication skills
- A flexible and resilient approach with the ability to work under pressure and in a fast paced and demanding environment.
- Minimum 3 years of experience working in a 5-star hotel, luxury retail, hospitality, agency or marketing environment in a similar role.
- Knowledge of principles and practices of graphic design
- Previous working experience in the Middle East is an advantage
- Sound knowledge of all media forms, drafting creative briefs, campaign development, implementation, and measurement
- Creative and a critical trained eye for creative review
- Proficiency in digital marketing and social media
- Nuanced in luxury
- Strong project management skills
- Ability to work under pressure and against tight deadlines.
