Duties and responsibilities: 
  • Ensure the smooth operation and efficiency of the Engineering department 

  • Plan, direct, control, coordinate and participate in all areas and activities of the Engineering department 

  • Be responsible for the resort’s maintenance and utilities budget 

  • Ensure that expenses are in line with approved budget 

  • Develop and maintain an effective administrative and communication system and relevant requirements 

  • Follow stakeholders up with regards to specific maintenance projects and the resort’s goals 

  • Efficient manpower and physical assets coordination to obtain maximum control of expenditure 

  • Consistently report to the General Manager and Resort Manager on all matters affecting the resort’s operations 

  • Manage delays and any other issues affecting guests, promptly coordinating with site superintendents 

  • Liaise with consultants such as interior designers, architects, quantity surveyors, MEP engineers, lighting consultants, audio-visual consultants and procurement agents 

  • Implement and upgrade systems as required by MOHG standards 

  • Maintain records regarding the equipment as well as the preventive maintenance of mechanical, electrical, fire, safety, guests’ rooms, public areas, kitchen, back of house and audio-visual related matters 

  • Manage the costs’ control through energy-saving schedules 

  • Be aware of and assure compliance to MOHG H&S policies as well as national and local regulations related, but not limited, to fire, health and safety 

  • Conduct the staff evaluation 

  • Initiate and coordinate all work-related schedules 

  • Maintain a good communication with all colleagues, motivating own staff 

 

Requirements: 

  • A minimum 5-years' experience in a similar position within a 5-star luxury environment will be considered a plus 

  • Degree in Engineering, Project Management or an equivalent in a technical field 

  • Strong competencies in Engineering and Project Management, encompassing mechanical, electrical and civil knowledge 

  • Fire, Health & Safety regulations/compliance knowledge 

  • Financial budgeting and planning competencies 

  • Strong organizational and administrative skills 

  • Excellent business-communication skills 

  • Strong knowledge of verbal and written English 

  • Strong leadership skills and customer-focused approach 

  • Performance-driven, assertive and hardworking
