About the job

Based Mandarin Oriental Jakarta, the Event Coordinator is responsible to generate and maximize revenue from guest rooms as well as banquet, meeting, and catering sales from existing and potential accounts. Coordinate customer requirements with relevant hotel departments to ensure seamless execution, maximum guest satisfaction, and optimal profitability for the hotel. The Event Coordinator reports to the Director of Sales / Assistant Director of Sales.
 

As Event Coordinator, you will be responsible for the following duties:

1. Sales Development & Account Management

  • Seek and contact new potential commercial accounts through direct enquiries, sales leads, sales blitz, and trade show follow-up.
  • Responsible for room night and revenue production from allocated accounts.
  • Monitor monthly production of own corporate/government accounts and attend review meetings.
  • Follow up on all sales leads.
  • Update all Fidelio / Delphi Sales and Catering account and contact profiles to maintain accurate records.
  • Prepare weekly sales call reports.

2. Client Relations & Business Generation

  • Entertain executives and secretaries of potential corporate/government companies and in-house guests to secure future business.
  • Participate in familiarisation visits and entertainment activities as required.
  • Conduct site inspections for potential clients.
  • Distribute seasonal gifts to major supporters.

3. Market Intelligence & Reporting

  • Monitor current market trends and supply competitor activity information to the Director of Sales (DOS).
  • Participate in overseas sales trips and complete all sales reports within one week of return.

4. Meetings, Projects, & General Duties

  • Attend daily sales briefings, weekly sales meetings, and bi-weekly business development meetings.
  • Participate in any projects as assigned by the direct superior.
  • Perform any other reasonable duties as required by the department head​

As Event Coordinator, we expect from you:

Educational level
Degree or Diploma in Hospitality Management or relevant Education

Work experience

  • Minimum 2 years working experience
