Mandarin Oriental, Vienna will be housed in a heritage building and comprise 138 guestrooms and suites surrounding a courtyard in the centre of the property, incorporating a restaurant, bar and outdoor garden. The property will also house a Spa at Mandarin Oriental featuring a series of treatment rooms, a swimming pool and a well-equipped fitness centre. A range of adaptable banqueting and meeting spaces will be available for events and social occasions.
The 24 Residences at Mandarin Oriental will be located on the top two floors of the building and will have private access to the roof, with several of the apartments offering outdoor terraces and stunning citywide views. These will be some of the most exclusive apartments in the city, with owners enjoying Mandarin Oriental’s legendary service and direct access to the hotel’s facilities.
As In Room Dining Manager, you will be responsible for the following tasks:
• Overseeing all operational and administrative aspects of the outlet and adjusting priorities based on business volume and other relevant factors.
• Ensuring that all operational standards are consistently met according to guidelines, SOPs, and quality measures.
• Monitoring the maintenance and cleanliness of all relevant areas, conducting regular walkthroughs with the appropriate colleagues from Engineering and Housekeeping to ensure a flawless environment.
• Working closely with the Chef de Cuisine to plan menus, pricing, and promotions to maximize revenue potential and meet market demands.
• Identifying areas for improvement in service and the quality of food and beverages by analyzing guest feedback and quality reports, and implementing necessary actions together with the Chef de Cuisine.
• Monitoring business forecasts and effectively planning staffing, equipment, and supplies.
• Ensuring the accuracy of all menus (current, correctly written, clean, and presentable), including digital and physical menus.
• Managing employee holiday requests and time off to avoid overtime accumulation. • Effectively handling guest complaints, both written and verbal.
• Planning and executing special events and promotions, especially during holidays and festive periods.
• Providing support in other outlets when required.
• Participating in all necessary meetings.
• Ensuring compliance with local laws and regulations regarding alcohol handling and responsible service by the entire team.
• Monitoring POS systems and regularly checking item accuracy.
• Reviewing the monthly Profit & Loss (P&L) report and analyzing the financial situation of the outlet.
• Adhering to Jardine accounting requirements.
• Monitoring competitors and current market trends and prices.
• Leading, supporting, and motivating the team.
• Training, evaluating, and planning shift schedules for all team members in accordance with company policies and business requirements.
• Conducting counseling and disciplinary actions in line with Mandarin Oriental procedures.
• Ensuring adherence to grooming and appearance standards of Mandarin Oriental.
• Creating weekly duty rosters to ensure smooth operations within budget.
• Directly overseeing and responding to guest requests.
• Ensuring guest satisfaction according to MOHG quality standards.
• Building professional relationships with guests.
• Promoting a positive work environment and enthusiastic atmosphere.
• Inspiring colleagues to create unforgettable experiences for guests.
• Fostering efficient communication between departments and a climate of collaboration.
