About the job

Based at the Mandarin Oriental Paris within the Front Office Department, the Night Auditor ensures seamless overnight guest experience by delivering efficient, accurate, and courteous front desk and accounting services. In accordance with the Legendary Quality Experiences program, this role is responsible for maintaining operational continuity during the night, performing daily financial audits, and always keeping the guests’ perspective in mind while supporting the mission of the Accommodation Department.

As Night Audit, you will be responsible for the following duties:

  • Assist the Night Manager in supervising night operations, handling incidents, and ensuring continuity of service and operational standards.
  • Welcome guests during overnight hours with professionalism and discretion, ensuring a high-quality and reassuring front desk presence.
  • Manage late check-ins and early check-outs, ensuring accuracy and efficiency in all front desk operations.
  • Respond to guest inquiries and requests in a courteous and proactive manner, providing information about hotel services and facilities.
  • Act as the main point of contact overnight, coordinating with security, housekeeping, maintenance, and on-call departments to ensure smooth operations.
  • Monitor room availability and room status, ensuring consistency between the PMS, housekeeping reports, and actual occupancy.
  • Perform nightly control procedures by reviewing daily transactions, guest folios, and postings to ensure accuracy and compliance with hotel standards.
  • Execute the end-of-day closing process, reconciling revenue, payments, and cash handling activities.
  • Identify, investigate, and correct discrepancies, d report any irregularities to the Night Manager, Front Office, and Finance departments when necessary.
  • Prepare and distribute daily operational and financial control reports for management.
  • Handle billing operations and payments accurately, ensuring proper documentation and secure handling of financial data.
  • Support the Night Manager in managing guest incidents or complaints during night hours with tact, confidentiality, and effective problem-solving skills.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and professional front desk environment throughout the night.
  • Ensure guest safety, staff security, and full compliance with Mandarin Oriental luxury service standards and internal control procedures.

As Night Audit, we expect from you: 

  • Successful experience in a similar position in an establishment of the same category
  • Organized, rigorous and discreet
  • Excellent presentation
  • Initiative and availability
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and a taste for customer contact
  • Fluent in English
  • Fluency in a 3rd language appreciated (Mandarin, Arabic, Russian)
