About the job

Based at the Mandarin Oriental, Hong Kong within Food & Beverage Service Division in Hong Kong, the Sales Manager - Terrace Boulud will be the primary point of contact, plan, organize, coordinate, and execute events to meet and exceed the organizers’ expectations, while providing exceptional service, seamless communication, and tailored collaboration with internal teams and external vendors, evaluating processes and guest feedback to enhance operations. The Sales Manager - Terrace Boulud reports to the Director of Operations - Terrace Boulud.

As Sales Manager - Terrace Boulud, you will be responsible for the following duties:

  • Responsible for planning, organising, coordination and executing event to meet and exceed the organisers’ or bookers’ expectations

  • Create and maintain a sales brochure and actively sell the restaurant

  • Proactively approach potential clients for partial or fully privatized events

  • Provide event plan, themes and timeline to meet client objectives

  • Overseeing the smooth setup, running and pack up of events

  • Post-event evaluation to enhance the guest’s experience

  • Handle complaints with professionalism, ensuring a positive outcome wherever possible

  • Sourcing and negotiating with vendors for AV equipment, catering, decorations, entertainment, and other event-related services to ensure successful event execution

  • Remain updated on catering menus, set-ups, services, capacities and product knowledge

  • Entertain organiser to appreciate confirmed business from potential corporate companies

  • Coordinate with the restaurant operations team and culinary team regarding the operations of extraordinary arrangements or commitments

  • Attend and participate in the sales and operations related meetings and business development meetings

  • Feedback on relevant trends, competitor pricing, innovative concepts and marketing updates

  • Perform any special projects as directed by your immediate superior

  • Distribute seasonal gifts to valuable customers

  • Support restaurant operations when required

 As Sales Manager - Terrace Boulud, we expect from you:

  • At least 5 years of relevant working experience in Catering / Event Sales, preferably with pre-opening experience in a luxury hotel

  • Experience in managing outside catering service in luxury segment

  • Degree holder in hotel management or other related disciplines

  • Proficient in spoken and written English and Chinese (both Cantonese and Mandarin) and computer literacy

  • Strong administration and organization skills

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

  • Passionate in customer service and hospitality industry
