As an Engineering Storekeeper you will be responsible for overseeing and managing all inventory and supplies within the engineering store. This role involves maintaining accurate records of materials, ensuring proper storage and handling of goods, and coordinating with the engineering team to meet project needs. The ideal candidate will have experience in inventory management and a strong understanding of engineering materials and tools.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Receive the goods from suppliers and check whether they meet the requirements mentioned in the purchase order
  • Arrange received materials as required
  • Ensure that the materials are stored safely
  • Keep a record of receipt and issue of goods
  • Issue materials according to the requirements
  • Dispatch purchase requisition for buying fresh goods
  • Manage personnel at the store  
  • Sorts and places materials or items on racks, shelves, or in bins according to assigned inventory location.
  • Issues material to customers and in current system based on request specifications.
  • Fills requisition, picklist, request for materials, and /or other stock items and distributes items to various crafts throughout the facility
  • Marks materials with identifying information and updates system with location
  • Order and replace the correct spares of equipment as needed
  • Report any maintenance/engineering concerns, unusual findings or safety hazards
  • Perform other duties that management may from time to time reasonably require

Qualifications and Requirements:

  • Two years of experience in inventory management or storekeeping, preferably in an engineering environment.
  • Strong knowledge of inventory management systems and procedures.
  • Familiarity with engineering tools, materials, and equipment.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to lift and move heavy items, as required.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
