Vice President (or Group Head) – Head of Residential
Location: Corporate Office in London / New York
Responsible for directing and managing the Group’s Residences business unit strategy, P&L accountability, providing functional expertise, support and oversight in the development and management of the Group Residences portfolio.
Directly accountable for all aspects of the Residences division including development, branding, marketing, pre-opening, and ongoing operations, and assists in the development of a sound business model as an important component of the Group’s core competences.
Roles and Responsibilities
- Proactively assesses, develops, implements, and exploits strategic opportunities to positively impact Group shareholder value, through value-adding initiatives to increase sales value and velocity, or add additional revenue streams (ongoing, 15% of time).
- Responsible for residential projects from development through, and including, the management of ongoing residential operations (weekly, 25% of time).
- Works closely with joint venture partners, project owners/developers and Group senior management to evaluate and execute business alternatives consistent with the Group’s residential strategy, and interfaces with Group functional and operational units providing relationship, contract, and financial expertise (weekly, 25% of time).
- Focused on key business attributes (ROIC, earnings impact, budget and cost constraints, analysis of strategic alternatives, etc.) and liaises with stakeholder departments (Development, Brand, Marketing, Technical Services, IT&T, Finance, Legal, Operations, etc.) while providing key residential expertise to the enterprise (monthly, 15% of time).
- Responsible for departmental budgeting, and tracking, monitoring, invoicing and forecasting fee income (weekly, 20% of time).
- Performs other responsibilities and duties periodically assigned by supervisor in order to meet operational and/or other requirements, including negotiation of selected standalone opportunities.
Requirements
- Education – Bachelor of Science in Hospitality, Law, Finance, Business, Economics, or other commercial real estate-focused concentration. Advanced education (e.g. MBA) a plus.
- Experience – Minimum of 10-15 years of relevant senior management experience in luxury hospitality and/or residential communities, private equity, law or finance with focus on hospitality and/or other commercial or luxury residential real estate during which the candidate has demonstrated success and advancement and implementation of organizational goals.
- Special skills – Excellent communication skills in all aspects: verbal, written and non-verbal. Strong organizational skills and experienced in developing procedures and programs. Quality driven with a passion for excellence. Must possess excellent organisational, analytical, interpersonal and leadership skills. Approachable, openminded and fair. Team player. Flexible work hours to meet the demands of a global role. High energy. Expert proficiency in Microsoft Office (including Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, inter alia).
- Additional languages would be beneficial.
