Duty Engineer 值班工程师

• To ensure through continuously physically checking all areas within the Hotel and all aspects of the Engineering services and implementation of standard procedures the highest standard of maintenance is achieved.
• To ensure all log books, record sheets and diary of events are correctly completed and kept up to date prior to finishing your shift.
• To ensure work requests that may come from the Hotel’s guests or senior management are responded to within a given time. All such requests are to be recorded along with what action is taken.
• To ensure maintenance request assigned to you are completed competently, with the minimum of disruption to the Hotel’s guests and colleagues and within a given time. I f for any reason maintenance requests are not completed, these are to be highlighted and handed over to the Assistant Director of Engineering.
• To ensure the daily readings of all utility meters are carried out, and recorded, and the consumption calculations are completed.
• Constantly strive to reduce utility costs for the hotel without reducing quality of service or impacting on our guest’s satisfaction in any way.
• Monitor and report on progress of any plans or ideas implemented to reduce the hotel’s wastage of resources.
• To ensure Hotel's fire, health and safety procedures are implemented.
• Encourages the highest possible standard of environmental management.
• To perform any other duties and responsibilities as required by the Director of Engineering and Assistant Director of Engineering.
• Attend and report to Director of Engineering and Assistant Director of Engineering any actions or action plans that may arise from inspections by the local authorities.
• To ensure that the Engineering Department and Hotel’s policy and Procedures are followed at all times.
• Report any urgent matters or irregularities to the Director of Engineering or Assistant Director of Engineering, immediately.
• As Duty Engineer, this position dictates you become a senior member of the Hotel's fire fighting team.
• To uphold the Hotel's security instructions and regulations in accordance with Hotel and Company policy and procedures.
• Constantly review the department’s performance and operations to stimulate ideas for reducing the department’s costs.
• Through effective planning and organizing of systems and procedures, productivity, efficiency and consistent, high level of service is achieved.

• Implement the hotel’s preventive maintenance programme for your area of responsibility (including fire safety equipment), as instructed by the departments management and ensure tasks are completed competently and with a given time

• Ensure weekly tests of the hotel’s fire detection system, sprinkler systems, generator test, and performances are recorded, and any repairs or adjustments required are highlighted.

• To review the operation of the day-to-day engineering department to ensure that staff is available and able to deliver the quality and service required achieving customer and colleague satisfaction.

• To assist the Assistant Director of Engineering to identify training needs and ensure departmental training plans are implemented and developed in accordance with company standards.

• To encourage staff suggestion program and other effective methods of two-way communication management by participation.

• Participate in fire and emergency procedure training and any other courses that may arise to ensure the guests and colleague’s safety and satisfaction is maintained at all times.
