Scope of Position

The Chef de Rang plays a crucial role in delivering a superior dining experience. The role will oversee a designated section of our restaurant, ensuring that guests receive exceptional service and that every detail of their dining experience meets our high standards of luxury and service.

Responsibilities

  • Will be responsible for holding a section in the restaurant.
  • Provide attentive and personalized service to guests, ensuring their needs are met with professionalism and warmth.
  • Anticipate guest preferences and respond to requests promptly to enhance their dining experience.
  • Demonstrate a thorough understanding of the Chinese menu, including traditional dishes, ingredients, and preparation methods. Offer detailed explanations and pairings to enhance the guest experience.
  • Ensure that management and kitchen colleagues are informed of any special guest preferences or allergies.
  • Have a good understanding of the outlet’s concept and food and beverage offerings and be able to verbally explain those to guests.
  • Be able to operate the required steps on the POS - point of sales system in order to process food and beverage orders.
  • Be able to deliver service by understanding the guest requirements.
  • Properly up-sell services and products to our guests at all times, enhancing service and generating increased revenue.
  • Perform any tasks relating to billing according to hotel standards and cashiering policies.
  • Ensure all dishes are presented in compliance with hotel standards and food & beverage specifications.
  • Support as required other outlets as assigned by the Restaurant/ Outlet Manager.
  • Create WOW moments to surprise and delight guests in the Restaurant 
  • Ensure customer satisfaction from arrival to departure in accordance to the MOHG Legendary Quality Experiences (LQEs).

 Skills & Qualifications

  • High School qualification or equivalent is preferred.
  • Degree or Higher National Diploma in Hospitality/Hotel/Business Management is preferred.
  • Experience in a high-volume restaurant with highest levels of service and/or luxury hotel experience preferred.
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience working as senior waiter / chef de rang.
  • Familiar with restaurant point of sales and cashiering procedures is preferred.
  • Basic computer skills including MS Office is preferred.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with guests and colleagues
  • Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to multitask and prioritize in a fast-paced environment.
