Based at the Mandarin Oriental Ritz, Madrid within the F&B Department in, the HOST / HOSTESS is responsible for greeting and seating guests according to Mandarin Oriental standards, managing reservations, and ensuring an exceptional guest experience. This role involves handling special requests, anticipating guests' needs, and ensuring overall guest satisfaction throughout their visit.
The HOST / HOSTESS reports to the RESTAURANT SUPERVISOR.
As HOST / HOSTESS you will be responsible for the following duties:
Accurately manage reservations and track guest preferences to enhance their experience.
Greet and seat guests according to Mandarin Oriental standards, ensuring a warm welcome.
Ensure high levels of guest satisfaction throughout their visit.
Handle special requests from guests and VIPs with attention to detail and professionalism.
Bid guests farewell in a courteous and respectful manner, leaving a lasting positive impression.
Anticipate and respond to guests' needs proactively to ensure a seamless experience.
As HOST/ HOSTESS, we expect from you:
Proficiency in English and Spanish.
Set up and maintain the bar/restaurant reception area and equipment.
Manage reservations and guest inquiries promptly and professionally.
Ensure menus are up-to-date and in excellent condition.
Communicate effectively within the department and across hotel teams.
Attend daily meetings and mandatory training sessions.
Perform administrative tasks as assigned by management.
Adhere to safety protocols, including FHLSS guidelines, local Food Acts, and fire safety plans.
Report any equipment issues, accidents, or safety concerns according to hotel procedures.
Follow Safe&Sound procedures for health, safety, and HACCP standards.
