The Junior Sous Chef - Bakery will assume full responsibility of all related operational and administrative aspects in the designated outlet.

Key Responsibilities:

  • You will play a key role in overseeing the daily operations of the bakery, focusing primarily on the production of high-quality bread and other bakery products.
  • You shall work closely with the Head Baker to develop new creations.
  • You will ensure timely production to meet demand, especially during peak hours.
  • You will be responsible to ensure that all bread products are made according to standardized recipes and specifications.
  • You will be responsible for the ordering and requesting of the ingredients on a daily basis.
  • It is part of your role to understand and disseminate/communicate all corporate and hotel policies and standard operating procedures to the colleagues.
  • It is part of your role and your responsibility to fully support all learning and development activities; update and maintain a complete Training Matrix for your department.
  • You shall encourage proactive, efficient and effective inter-departmental communication within and beyond the Food and Beverage division in order to promote a climate of teamwork and enthusiasm.
  • It is part of your role to provide leadership, direction and support to all colleagues at any time.

Qualifications and Requirements:

  • 5-7 years’ experience in the bakery industry.
  • Experience of the Middle East market preferred.
  • Able to create a variety of breads (sourdough, baguettes, rolls, and other specialty breads) and viennoiseries.
  • Strong background about banquet & breakfast operation.
  • Managing inventory and keeping control of stock.
  • Assist with the ordering of stock and checking the quality and quantity on receipt.
