Scope and Range
Under the guidance and supervision of the Head of Department and within the limits of established Mandarin Oriental Hotel Group policies and procedures, the Senior Public Area Attendant ensures that all public areas and back‑of‑house spaces are consistently maintained at the highest standards of cleanliness, functionality, and presentation.
The Senior Public Area Attendant acts as a role model within the Public Area team, demonstrating exceptional attention to detail, professionalism, and respect for guest privacy and property.
The Senior Public Area Attendant reports to the Executive Housekeeper or, in her/his absence, to the Assistant Executive Housekeeper.

Responsibilities:
Upholds and reinforces MOHG Quality Assurance and cleanliness standards throughout public areas.
Ensures all public spaces, including lobby, restaurants, spa, fitness centre, public restrooms, and banquet venues, are maintained to the highest levels of cleanliness and presentation.
Maintains cleanliness and order in all back-of-house areas, such as offices, changing rooms, corridors, and storage areas.
Uses all cleaning equipment and chemicals safely and correctly, in line with departmental guidelines and local regulations.
Conducts regular inspections of public areas and BOH areas across day and evening shifts; identifies and reports maintenance or safety issues promptly.
Assists with the training and mentoring of new Public Area team members.
Ensures all storage rooms (pantries, trolleys, utility rooms) are well-organized, stocked, and compliant with hygiene and safety standards.
Responds promptly and courteously to guest requests and assists in resolving guest concerns, escalating when required.
Supports emergency response procedures as required by the Hotel.
Provides operational support to other housekeeping divisions during peak periods.
Maintains effective communication with colleagues and other departments to ensure smooth daily operations.
Actively shares feedback, improvement ideas, and observations with supervisors to enhance service and efficiency.
Completes assigned administrative or reporting tasks relevant to the role (e.g., inventory checks, incident logs).
Participates in special cleaning projects, seasonal tasks, and periodic deep‑cleaning assignments.
Assists with floral arrangement placement and upkeep in public areas when required.
Acts as a role model for colleagues by delivering warm, professional service to guests and fostering positive teamwork.
Handles lost & found items according to hotel procedures.
Performs any other reasonable tasks assigned by supervisors or senior management.
