The beachfront resort is part of the sustainable resort destination of Costa Navarino, a well-established tourism destination which includes 3 other resorts. It comprises of 99 suites and villas, all with outdoor terraces and sea views, along with seven restaurants and bars.

Scope of Position:

The Pastry Commis carries out kitchen duties whilst ensuring smooth, coordinated team effort in the kitchen. He/She ensures that agreed quality, hygiene and standards are kept or surpassed, at all times.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Communicates any operational problems to the Executive Chef and the Pastry Executive Chef.
  • Attends all training sessions arranged by Mandarin Oriental.
  • Carries out any external duties such as special events, promotions and demonstrations.
  • Ensures that the uniform provided is kept clean, presentable and in good condition, ensuring personal hygiene.
  • Observes and tests pastries being served.
  • Ensures the proper handling of all food items, in accordance with health and hygiene procedures.
  • Reports anything that may be considered a health or hygiene hazard.
  • Takes into consideration the availability of all pastry items and orders accordingly.
  • Participates in receiving and checking incoming goods.
  • Performs any other duties as required by the department head and the management from time to time.

Qualifications / Experience:

  • EU Passport or valid Residence Permit is mandatory in order to work in Greece.
  • 1 year of pastry experience.
  • Reading, writing and verbal proficiency in English and Greek. 
  • Ability to be flexible regarding shifts.
