Mandarin Oriental Barcelona Hotel has 120 rooms, 28 of which are suites. All of our exquisite rooms and suites are uniquely decorated by Patricia Urquiola.

In addition to accommodation, the hotel has rooms that we rent for all kinds of events, such as weddings, meetings, business meetings...

Regarding the hotel's gastronomy, we have a 2 Michelin star restaurant, a wonderful cocktail bar, indoor garden Mimosa and the pool terrace where you can enjoy light dinners or spectacular views.

The hotel Spa consists of 8 treatment rooms, both facial and body, indoor pool and gym.

We are currently looking for new talent to join the Security department as Security Assistant .

 

What will be the main functions you will perform in your position?

 

The practical application of security measures ensuring the safety and well being of Guests and Associates, as well as protection of the Company’s property from loss or damage. To provide a safe and secure environment to enable the Company to maximise profit potential. To maintain all Mandarin Oriental Barcelona standards to the highest level, delivering a prompt and courteous service at all times. To assist the Security Manager in all aspects of the Security Department and in the absence of the Security Manager undertake responsibilities as directed. To drive Guest and Employee satisfaction throughout the total hotel.

 

  1. To have a working knowledge of the following legislation:-
  1. Hotel Proprietors Act
  2. Immigration (Hotel Records ) Order
  3. Innkeepers Act
  4. The Licensing Act
  5. Theft Act
  6. Offences Against Person Act
  7. Criminal Damage Act
  8. Civil Trespass
  9. Fire Precautions Act
  10. PACE
  1. Be proficient in obtaining witness statements, writing incident reports.
  2. Record all relevant incidents in the Occurrence Book.
  3. Comply with the Code of Practice for Security Staff.
  4. To be trained in First Aid emergency techniques and fire safety.
  5. Respond directly to all activations of access and panic alarms.
  6. Provide security awareness training and information to Associates as and when required.
  7. Ensure regular float checks are conducted to monitor cash handling procedures.
  8. Conduct random audits in all departments to ensure the policy on key control is adhered to.
  9. Investigate, administrate and report all accidents with an emphasis on incidents as legislated by RIDDOR.
  10. Conduct daily hazard patrols, communicating findings to relevant Associates for action.
  11. Conduct regular patrols of the Mandarin Oriental Barcelona Hotel with a particular emphasis is on public areas and means of escape.
  12. Conduct bag and locker searches only in accordance with company guidelines.

To carry out any other reasonable request as directed

  1. Ability to swim and willingness to attend training and be on pool rescue team.

 

  • To be aware of, and comply with, safe working practises as laid down under the Health and Safety at Work Act 1974 and Company H & S Manual, as applicable to your place of work. This will include your awareness of any specific hazards at your work place
  • To be aware of, and comply with Food Acts.
  • To wear any appropriate protective clothing provided by or recommended by the Hotel.
  • To report any defects in the building, plant or equipment according to the Hotel procedures.
  • To ensure any accidents to colleagues, guests or visitors are reported in accordance with Hotel procedures.
  • To attend 6 monthly statutory fire training and to be fully conversant with and abide by all rules concerning, fire, health & safety.
  • To attend any training deemed appropriate by your Head of Department.
