About the job
Based Mandarin Oriental Jakarta, the All Day Dining Supervisor is responsible for the day-to-day operation of the restaurant, ensuring smooth service, consistent quality, and exceptional guest experiences by supervising floor operations, guiding the service team, resolving guest concerns, supporting staff, operation efficiency and maintaining high standards of service delivery. The All Day Dining Supervisor reports to the Restaurant Manager.
As All Day Dining Supervisor you will be responsible for the following duties:
1. Learning & Development
- Coordinate training arrangements, including invitations, attendance sheets, and room setup.
- Coordinate training arrangements, attendance sheets, and training material.
- Participate in regular role-play sessions to practice guest interaction scenarios, including service recovery, upselling, and complaint handling.
- Provide constructive feedback to colleagues during role-play exercises to enhance learning outcome
- Coach, mentor and support team members in achieving performance and service excellence.
- Support the execution of MOHG learning programs by following up on standards and Matrix.
2. Colleague Communication
- Maintain open, respectful and professional communication with Lifeng colleagues. Share information clearly and promptly with team members to ensure smooth operations.
- Active listening to colleagues’ ideas and feedback to encourage teamwork and innovation.
- Created internal communication handover to every section.
- Prepare a welcome kit for new hire paperwork to ensure smooth onboarding.
3. Special Events
- Coordinate with Restaurant Manager, event team and Kitchen to ensure smooth operations during events
- Brief and train colleagues on event-specific service standards, menus, and guest expectations.
- Oversee restaurant decoration, buffet set up, table arrangements, and service flow to meet event requirements.
- Monitor event progress, resolve any issues promptly, and adapt to last-minute changes.
- Support post-event evaluations by collecting guest feedback and identifying areas for improvement and share to the team for the results.
4. Additional Responsibilities
- Monitor stock levels, support ordering processes, and ensure proper storage and rotation of supplies.
- Promote upselling and suggestive selling to enhance guest experience and maximize revenue.
- Ensure restaurant setup, buffet set up (breakfast, lunch and dinner) cleanliness, and readiness before and after each service.
- Act as the person in charge in the absence of the Restaurant Manage
As All Day Dining Supervisor, we expect from you:
Educational Background
- A bachelor’s degree in hospitality management or a related field is often preferred.
Experience
- Minimum in 2-3 years’ experience in similar position, preferably within the hospitality industry.
Skills & Competencies
- Knowledge of Food & Beverage service standards, Service of sequences of all day dining restaurant, and table management systems.
- Understanding of food safety, hygiene, and sanitation practices (HACCP certification preferred)
- Basic knowledge of wine, spirits, and cocktail service, including proper serving techniques.
- Able to prepare operational reports and assist in scheduling and manpower planning is an advantage.
- Attention to detail and remains flexible in managing shifting priorities, guest expectation and business demand.
- Able to oversee the restaurant set-up, buffet set up and operation of a station or section in the outlet; act as an order taker and actively promote restaurant offerings, including food and beverage specials.
- Engage personally with VIP guests, ensuring that service standards are met and expectations exceeded
- Respond proactively to guest inquiries or concerns in the absence of the manager or assistant manager, ensuring follow-up and clear communication with the leadership team
- Able to lead, guide, and communicate effectively with colleagues during restaurant operations to ensure smooth service flow.
- Able to assist the Restaurant Manager in ensuring that employees consistently always meet service and product delivery standards with exceptional guest care.
- Supervise and participate in the efficient and profitable running of the restaurant, taking ownership of assigned sections and working closely with the Outlet Manager to foster a professional and motivated team environment.
- Coordinate the accurate and efficient service of food and beverages to all guests.
- Report and follow up on any maintenance issues that may impact service quality or operational efficiency.
- Able to identify training needs and contribute to the continuous development and performance of team members.
- Carry out any other duties as reasonably assigned by the Outlet Manager.
- Able to supervise and conduct daily, weekly, and monthly inventories to ensure stock accuracy.
Technical Proficiency
- Computer literacy in Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel, and Outlook; knowledge of PowerPoint is an advantage.
- Familiarity with Infrazys, Sevenrooms, Alice system or similar platforms is an advantage.
