Main Responsibilities
- Oversee the Accounting department activities to ensure optimal efficiency and performance of department
- Represent the Assistant Director of Finance and/or Director of Finance in his/her absence
- Direct & Supervise Accounting department colleagues, including Accounts Payable, General Cashier, Income Audit, Payroll, Credit & Accounts Receivable, and General Accounting
- Provide accurate and complete financial and management reports on a timely and accurate basis to hotel management, corporate office and owners in accordance with the company and ownership reporting requirements and policy. The Finance Manager is responsible for reporting accurately and timely, the actual results as compared to budget/forecast results. In addition to the preparation of all financial statements, accounting and statistical reports, and any other special report that may be required by corporate office or the General Manager, the Finance Manager is responsible for interpreting said reports and then communicating the results with the General Manager, Assistant Director of Finance and/or Director of Finance and relevant department heads
- Perform and supervise the complete month-end closing procedures
- Responsible for the analysis and interpretation of the financial data and communicating this in a comprehensible form, of meaningful variations in the operations
- Assist other department heads in the development and implementation of “corrective action plans” on internal and/or external audit and operational reports
- Ensure cash flow is adequate to meet the needs of the operation
- The position is directly accountable to manage the hotel accounting department, information and internal control systems and hotel finances in accordance with all policy and procedures. This position is accountable for the development, documentation, and support of Financial Polices and Operational Procedures to include performance monitoring as it relates to the hotels
Requirements
- Two to five years Finance Manager experience in Hospitality Accounting operations or comparable experience
- Excellent knowledge of various PMS, POS, Purchasing, Payroll, Accounting and Reporting Systems (preferably Infor HMS, Infogenesis, Moreton Bay, Oasys, SUN System and Hyperion Planning)
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
- Prolific in all Windows Based Software Application
- Strong Level of Proficiency in Excel
- Ability to assemble, analyze, understand integrated spread sheets and complex technical information
- Prioritization skills necessary to meet deadlines
- Effective management, leadership, organisational and communications skills
