We are looking for a passionate colleague to join our People & Culture team at Mandarin Oriental Ritz Madrid. This position is suitable for candidates who are passionate about working in the hospitality industry and want to grow in the L&D field. WE are happy to welcome an experienced L&D with no hotel industry experience. Your enthusiasm and drive are what we value the most.

JOB DESCRIPTION

As a Learning & Development Manager you will provide support to hotel management and colleagues to achieve hotel and strategic business objectives and maintain Hotel and Company L&D policies and procedures.

The main focus of your job will be:

  • To identify and monitor operational, supervisory, and managerial Learning and Development needs and requirements, and provide regular feedback to Director of People & Culture
  • To support the activities of departmental managers and to ensure that all Learning & Development activities are geared towards the achievement of the hotel strategic objectives
  • To deliver Hotel Orientation Program for all new starters in accordance with hotel and company standards and procedures
  • To train and support the departmental service quality training ensuring LQE are adhered to
  • To produce a Learning & Development calendar encompassing operative, supervisory and managerial Learning & Development activities and make sure it is followed
  • Provide ongoing support and guidance to employees to facilitate their professional growth and development
  • Occasionally travel to other Mandarin Oriental hotels for training purposes
  • Cooperate with management to develop career development plans and succession strategies for key positions within the hotel
  • To play an active part in Fire, Health & Safety trainings, and Food Hygiene training to ensure that all legislation is adhered to; as well as recorded and reviewed in conjunction with the FLHSS Manager where applicable

WHAT WE EXPECT FROM YOU

  • 2+ years of experience in a learning and development role
  • Very good knowledge of Spanish and English at a communicative level (training in both languages)
  • Ability to build relationships and collaborate effectively with employees at all levels of the organization
  • Strong understanding of learning principles and instructional design methodologies
  • Excellent communication, presentation and interpersonal skills
  • Good knowledge of Training & Development, Talent Management, Employee Engagement and Performance Management
